Mindful Musings #68

Mindful Musings

The inky darkness is disturbed by your cry.

Roused from my sleep I wander

Half-awake into your room.

Your cries of unhappiness ring in my ears.

What could it be this time?

A change? You’ve lost your blanket? A bad dream?

Whatever the reason I will attend to you.

Return you to your cozy dreamland

Before staggering back to mine.

When the morning comes

Your bright, clear eyes

Will shine your happiness

While mine betray my sleepiness.

But I could never be mad.

You’re still so tiny, you need me so much.

Don’t grow up too fast.
